As the daughter of a farmer, I have seen firsthand the important role agriculture plays in supporting families and rural communities in Fiji. My area of focus within the kava industry is sustainable kava production, farmer livelihoods, and youth engagement in agriculture.
I am interested in exploring ways to support smallholder kava farmers through improved farming practices, climate resilience, value-added opportunities, and better market access. I believe the kava industry has significant potential to improve household incomes, create employment opportunities for young people, and contribute to rural economic development.
I am particularly interested in learning how innovation, partnerships, and sustainable land management can strengthen the kava value chain while protecting the environment. Through this opportunity, I hope to gain knowledge, skills, and networks that will help me contribute to the long-term growth and sustainability of Fiji's kava industry.
